Dry Ingredient Options:
  • Nutschopped (almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, macadamia, hazelnut, etc.)
  • Seeds(sesame seeds, hemp seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, etc.)
  • Dried Fruitchopped (dates, cranberries, cherries, goji berries, apricots, raisins, etc.)
  • Shredded Coconut
  • Spices(cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric, etc.)
  • Cacao Powder
  • Cacao Nibs
  • chocolate chipsnaturally sweetened
  • Herbal Powders(maca, acai powder)
Natural Sweetener Options:
  • maple syrup
  • raw honey
  • Coconut Sugar or Nectar
  • Date Syrup
  • Datessoaked, drained, and mashed
  • apple sauce
Nut/Seed Butter Options:
  • Sunbuttersunflower seed butter
  • Nut Butter(cashew butter, almond butter, hazelnut butter, etc.)
Instructions
  1. In large bowl, combine chosen ingredients from above ‘dry ingredient’ list (as many as you choose!).
  2. Drizzle with natural sweetener option, enough to lightly coat top of ingredients in bowl.
  3. Toss to make sure all ingredients in bowl are well coated.
  4. Add chosen nut/seed butter and fold ingredients until everything starts to stick together.
  5. Note: If too dry, add more nut/seed butter, 1 tablespoon at a time. If too wet, add more dry ingredients, 1 tablespoon at a time.
  6. Fold/mash/press until dense sticky ‘dry batter’.
  7. Choose a dish that will allow for 1-inch thickness when batter is pressed down into dish.
  8. Line dish with parchment paper. Transfer batter onto paper in dish. Cover with second piece of parchment paper.
  9. Using fingers and knuckles, press down firmly onto batter through parchment paper to create uniform, 1-inch thick, firmly packed layer in dish.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or longer before removing from fridge and cutting into squares.
